Welcome to the official website of Bridges of New York. Bridges is a transitional housing program for alcoholism and drug dependency. The residential program's directive is restoring each client to the highest possible level of spiritual, physical, emotional and social health.
Supporting the 12 step model, we focus on the spiritual aspects of recovery from substance abuse. Bridges International was started in Florida by Bishop Frank Costantino. They primarily work with the criminal justice population, focusing on substance abuse and mental health issues. They offer faith-based programming within a therapeutic community environment. We have built our community residences here in New York to not only continue that mission, but also to help save lives as Bridges International has been doing for over 30 years. In the New York Metro area, the abuse of drugs and alcohol is causing an epidemic of major proportions; one out of every five households is dealing with problems related to addiction. Almost 90% of the inmates at the County Correctional Facilities are incarcerated because of drug and alcohol related crimes. We can no longer stand by and watch this epidemic destroy our neighborhoods. We can no longer stand back and watch these men being released to the streets with nowhere to go and no means of support.
